This work is truly about remembering the magic.
I have never felt as connected to my art as I do with this piece. As I was creating it, it was like being in a magical garden under the moonlight, dancing with the energy of nature spirits. Seeing the flowers and seed pods I carefully collected and pressed come alive on the canvas was both peaceful and exhilarating.
The practice of creating artistic scenes with pressed flowers is known as Oshibana. Being a fan of Japanese culture and history, I find great joy in participating in this tradition. Originating in 16th century Japan, this art form entails arranging pressed flowers to form a composition.
