My Love of Trees has Deep Roots
As a little girl, I would wander with my best friend to a little forest where we would pick wild raspberries and then enjoy them under the expanse of an ancient oak tree. It was the most beautiful and nourishing tree — full of a nurturing spirit that showered us with it’s benevolence. We called it “our fairy tree”.
Sadly, this tree was cut down to make way for a housing development.
As part of my committement to connect humans to nature more deeply, and to honor the spirit of this majestic tree, I have created this collection of works. The collection is ongoing. Check back often for new works that I add as they are created.
"RECIPROCITY" I wanted to see what happens in the places we can’t see, but encounter every day. The dark places that hold us. They also hold life, connecting the heavens, the terrestrial world, and the underworld. The trees are a great way to show this to you. 18×24 inches acrylic on wood

"THE SPIRIT OAK" This painting is dedicated to my ancient tree friends that now live on in the Otherworld. I am so often drawn to the great oak trees. There is a place I like to go and sit. To escape the busyness of life and to find my center. There is a grove of oaks that form a circle. Sitting in the center quietly with a cup of tea brings balance each time. Tuning out the clutter of the world, and tuning into the hum of the trees, birds, and sky brings me back to my center each time. In this opened awareness, I can hear the whispers of the calling.
